The Cost of it All
We have to make every penny count that we receive from donations and fundraising events:
Response Costs: Did you know that the costs of fighting a fire or responding to an EMS call, including fuel, water, supplies replacement, and damaged equipment or personal protective gear, are not normally covered by any type of billing or reimbursement?
Equipment and Vehicle Costs: The significant cost of acquiring, maintaining, and replacing specialized fire and EMS equipment, vehicles, and emergency rescue tools is a major financial burden.
Training and Education: The cost of ongoing training and specialized education for volunteer firefighters contributes to the financial burden on departments.
Specialized Materials: Costs for most items used in hazardous material abatement or other emergency situations that are not tied to a specific reimbursable incident are not covered by incident billing.
General Operational Costs: Day-to-day expenses, such as insurance, building maintenance, Electricity, Natural Gas and general supplies, are not reimbursed through the incident response billing process.
